Anderson, Ballon-Landa named 1st Team All-New England, All-NESCAC


WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — Williams College sophomores Kate Anderson (OPP) and Nicole Ballon-Landa (middle blocker) have been selected 1st Team All-New England by the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) and 1st Team All-Conference by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).

Anderson (Berlin, MA) and Ballon-Landa (La Jolla, CA) are 1-2 in kills for the Ephs with 409 and 389, respectively. They are 2-3 in total blocks, respectively, with 93 and 91. Anderson is sixth in the conference in kills per set with 3.10 is eighth with 2.76. Anderson is eighth in the NESCAC with a .276 hitting percentage.

Ballon-Landa, who was the 2007 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, has 22 service aces while Anderson has 17. Anderson has 98 digs on the season, Ballon-Landa 58.

The Ephs (26-12) are currently on a 10-match win streak as they prepare to face Springfield today at 4:30 p.m. in the 2nd round of the Div. III NCAA New England Regional at Tufts.
