Dear took the Women's Track Performer of the Week, while Simalchik was honored as the conference's Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Both Ephs won for their efforts at the Titan Twilight Invitational held at Cal State Fullerton where they competed primarily against Division I athletes,
Dear was the top Division III participant in the 1,500-meter run at the Cal State Fullerton Titan Twilight Meet last week. Dear's time of 4:32.57 placed her second overall among the field. "Annie recently garnered her first All-American award two weeks ago when she finished 7th in the NCAA indoor 5000m," noted Eph assistant coach Patrick Wales-Dinan. "Her season's best time of 17:00.47 was the second fastest time by a Division III runner and was the second fastest time in Williams history. This weekend in her first race of the season she ran the 1500m in 4:32.57. The time currently ranks her #1 in NCAA Division III and is the 5th fastest time in Williams history."
