Ephs Run Well at NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships

ADA, OHIO- As the last meet of the season, the NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championship in Ada Ohio was an extremely important and challenging meet for the Ephs. However, the ladies rose to the occasion and ran well against some of the best runners in the country. In terms of the individual events, Freshmen Sara Wild ran an impressive 2:15.24 in the 800 taking 4th overall. Also junior Ariel Williams ran a 2:17.10 for the Ephs.
The relays for the Ephs yielded even better results with the 4X400 composed of Veronica Ivey, Emily Heaslip, Carrie Plitt and Sara Wild as they sped to a 3:55.53 and a overall 5th place finish. This was a great improvement for the Ephs not only over their seed of 9th but also over last year’s finish of 8th place. Furthermore, the Distance Medley Relay ran by Bret Scofield, Carrie Plitt, Laura Walls and Olga Kondratjeva ran an 11:56.56 coming to a fantastic 3rd place finish. Overall the women’s team came to a ninth place finish as a result of the incredible efforts of all the women.
