Ephs Finish in a Three Way Tie with Amherst and Tufts at Division 1 All New England's

DURHAM N.H.- The Williams Women’s Track and Field Team competed at the Division 1 All New England’s Meet on this past Saturday and placed ninth out of more than thirty of the best teams in th region, forming a three way tie with NESCAC rivals Tufts and Amherst. In the 200 meter Dash senior speedster Carrie Plitt ran a 25.21 to place sixth in the preliminaries then bested her time to run a 24.85 and place fifth overall in the finals. Sophomore Shawna Mcardle also ran well with a 26.31 and placed 20th overall. In the 100 meter hurdles sophomore Elise Johnson continued to impress wth a 14.60 in the preliminary round and improved with a 14.38 to place 3rd overall and score 6 points for the Ephs.
The 800 was a big event for the Ephs with four women placing in the top 15. Senior Lissy Robie ran a 2:16.79 placing 15th, sophomore Olga Kondratjeva sped her way to 10th place with a 2:14.14, and freshmen Sara Wild and Lizzie Danhakl scored for the team coming in 8th and 6th with times of 2:13.17 and 2:12.09. Senior Laura Walls battled alone against a strong field in the 1500 running a time of 4:39.05 and coming in 12th overall. In the 5k, freshmen Tina Meade continued to improve upon her times running an impressive 18:11.74 and placing 20th overall. In the 10k, junior Lauren Philbrook continued to add great performances to her season’s best list placing 4th overall with a 36.55.13 In the 5k steeplechase freshmen Meghan Shea and Sarah Tory continued to perform well for the Ephs with 11th and 14th place finishes at times of 11:48.27 and 12:03.63 respectively.
Freshmen Julia Cohan and sophomore Kristen Baldiga represented the field team placing 10th and 18th with throws of 34.93 and 32 meters.
In the relays, the Ephs 4X100 meter team
placed 9th at a time of 49.26 and the 4X400 team placed
4th overall at a time of 3:53.41 The team scored a total
of 24 points for the day and placed 9th overall.
