Lauren Philbrook wins 10000; Natalia Rey de Castro 2nd at Univ. of Richmond Invite

On the first day of the non-scoring Fred Hardy Invitational at
the University of Richmond the Williams women's track & field
team had one individual winner, a second and a third and the 4X800
relay was second.
Lauren Philbrook won the 10000m run in a time of 38:40.87 and
finishing second to her was Natalia Rey de Castro (41:11.82).
Heather Bemis, Ariel Williams, Olga Kondratjeva and Lissy Robie
teamed up to post a time of 9:09.67 and claimed second place.
Nora Mitchell was third in the 3000 steeplechase in a time of
12:07.74, while Robin Kunz took fifth in the 400m hurdles with a
time of 1:07.46.
Beth links led a quartet of Ephs finishing in the top eight in the
5000 as she crossed the finish line in 18:40.55, Moira Yoe was 6th
(19:24.49), Tina Meade was 7th (19:33.86) and Laura Walls was 8th
(19:53.88).
Sara Turner posted the highest finish in a field event with a 6th
n the long jump (4.5m).
The Fred Hardy Invitational will conclude tomorrow afternoon.
