AMHERST, MA – The New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament ended today. Williams concluded the tournament with a number 1 finish in the B flight and a second place finish in the A flight.
In the A flight, Williams 2, duo of Kathleen Elkins and Maria Pylypiv, defeated 2nd ranked Middlebury 3-0. The match was hard-fought, as the pair pulled out a comeback victory in doubles, and both singles matches went into super-tiebreakers. Elkins and Pylypiv, unfortunately, lost in the Finals to number 1 ranked Amherst. The other Williams pair of Alotta and Curren were defeated in the Semis by the winning Amherst team.
In the B flight, Monica Pastor and Lindsay Thygesen lived up to their number one ranking by winning the B flight Finals against Middlebury.
