Ephs Conclude Fall Season on High Note
After a strong fall season, which included an individual regional championship in singles, a runner-up finish in doubles, and a 2-1 record in match play, the Ephs concluded their season today with another title in Holyoke. Caroline Capute 12 and Veranika Li 13 won a pair of matches to claim the championship of the B-draw at the New England womens intercollegiate tennis tournament.

Capute and Li Advance to Semis B-draw
On a tough day of competition for the defending national champion Williams womens tennis team, a pair of underclassmen stole the show. Sophomore Caroline Capute and first-year Veranika Li won three matches to advance to the semifinals of the B-draw tomorrow.

Ephs Start Strong in Season Ending Tournament
Williams began its final tournament of the fall season in strong. Despite inclement weather, which caused delays throughout the day, both Ephs teams whose matches have finished advanced to the round of 16.

Ephs Rebound in Sweep of Wellesley
Williams regained their winning form today, following a painful loss to archrival Amherst by defeating Wellesley College 9-0. The Ephs started strong, dropping only eight games in three doubles matches and carried that momentum into singles play where Williams won all but one set.

Williams Falls to Rival Amherst 6-3
The top two teams in the nation from last season met today in Williamstown. Last May, Williams defeated Amherst in the NCAA finals to take the title. Today, the Lord Jeffs enacted a measure of revenge, beating the Ephs on the road 6-3.

Ephs Survive Wait, Sweep Vassar
The finals of the mens ITA championship and inclement weather forced the start of the Williams womens match against Vassar to be delayed nearly three hours. The defending champion Ephs, however, showed few signs of ill effect from the delay, sweeping Vassar 9-0 en route to their sixth consecutive victory, a streak that dates back to last spring.

Alotta Triumphs in Regional Championship; Doubles Falls Just Short
Sophomore Kristin Alotta has arrived on the collegiate tennis scene. After losing only one match last season, playing as the number three player for the Ephs, Alotta has emerged as the preeminent player in the region. Alotta captured the ITA Northeast regional tournament championship today, defeating the defending champion Julia Browne of Tufts 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

Alotta Moves on to Semis, Doubles Team to Finals
Sophomore Kristin Alotta extended her winning streak to 29 matches, notching a pair of victories on the second day of competition en route to a berth in the ITA regional semifinals. She will be joined on the final day of competition tomorrow by the doubles team of Grace Baljon 10 and Taylor French 12.

Ephs Look Strong in Opener
The two-time defending NCAA champion Williams women's tennis team opened its fall season in fine fashion today in the Northeast Regional ITA tournament at MIT. Four Ephs advanced to the round of 16 in the singles bracket, while a pair of doubles teams advanced to the quarterfinals in the doubles draw.
