Ephs edge #11 Trinity (TX) 5-4 at Fab Five Tourney

LEXINGTON, VA – For the second day in a row at the Fab Five Tournament hosted by Washington & Lee University the Ephs had a match determined by a score of 5-4, but this time the Ephs were smiling at the end.

"It's important for us to be playing the tough schedule we are over spring break and today was a great rebound from yesterday's narrow loss to Washington & Lee," said Eph head coach Alison Swain. "This time we came out on top in a 5-4 match."

Senior tri-captain Allie Rottkamp clinched the match for the Ephs when she downed Trinity's Erin Jamison in straight sets – 6-1, 6-2 – at number five. "I think in the matches that we won today we played more aggressively and with more confidence," noted Swain. "Luckily we now have more than 12 hours before our next match [#4 Emory] tomorrow in our last match of spring break."

With the win the third-ranked Ephs upped their record to 8-2 on the year, while the 11th-ranked Tigers of Trinity (TX) fell to 7-5.
