Squash Falls to #5 Cornell

Williamstown, MA – A day after the exciting 5-4 victory over the Brown Bears, the Williams women’s squash team hit the courts against another Ivy rival, Cornell. This time around, the Big Red proved too much, securing a 7-2 victory over the Ephs.

The bottom of the Eph lineup struggled with a deep Cornell team, as players in the three through nine spots all lost in quick, three game matches. The top court had more success, with number three Courtney Bogle forcing her opponent to four games and the sole wins coming from senior co-captains Toby Eyre and Jennifer Coxe at the one and two spots, respectively. Coxe played especially smart squash, keeping up the pace of the game with her precise volleys and quick shot-making in the front of the court.

The Ephs will hit the courts again next weekend against #6 Stanford before hosting the annual Little Three tournament with Amherst and Wesleyan.
