Ephs Take 2nd in NESCAC

Hartford, CT—The Williams women’s squash team took home the runner-up plaque for the fourth consecutive year, after falling 9-0 to a top-ranked Trinity team in the finals.

After receiving a first round bye, the Ephs finished off the Amherst squad with a 9-0 victory, with each Williams player winning 3-0. Co-captain Arianna Kourides only allowed two handouts at the number four position, while four of the Eph players won at least one of their games without giving up a point.

Williams faced the Bowdoin Polar Bears in the semi-finals, again coming out with a 9-0 win. The bottom of the Ephs ladder showed its strength, with players 8-10 not dropping a point.

Sunday afternoon proved a challenge for the Williams, dropping a 9-0 decision to the Bantams. Though pushing their opponents in long rallies, the Trinity women proved too strong. Particularly impressive Eph performances came from co-captain Claire Hsu at the number six spot, and senior Stephanie Barnet at number eight. Both players took the first games of their matches before dropping the next three.

Williams is looking forward to hosting the Brown Bears Wednesday night in the last home match of the season.
