Squash Falls to Harvard, Beats Tufts Handily

Cambridge, MA – The Williams women’s squash team traveled to Harvard this weekend for their first matches of the season against squash powerhouse Harvard University and NESCAC opponent Tufts University. The Crimson showed their tremendous strength, dealing Williams a 9-0 defeat. The Ephs turned the momentum around in their second match, dealing the same fate to the Jumbos. No Harvard player dropped a game in the matchup, while Williams similarly did not allow their Tufts opponents a single game.

Despite the scores, the team came out feeling encouraged by their early season efforts. Junior Caroline Henry had a notable performance at the number five position, almost taking a game off of her Harvard opponent, though eventually falling in the third game 9-7.

“We played hard against Harvard and then took care of business against Tufts,” said Assistant Coach Blair Dils. “Overall, it was a successful day.”

Freshman Eliana Saltzman was similarly positive about her first collegiate squash match. “It was a great experience to play such different teams!”
