Williamstown, MA—The Williams women’s squash team battled against top-ranked Yale this Friday. The 9-0 win for the Bulldogs did not come easily, with three of the top ten players taking games off of their opponents.
Court 6 had a good showing, with junior Caroline Henry winning her first game 10-8 and dropping a close second game of the same score. Co-captain Claire Hsu had a strong showing, playing three close games that kept her opponent on the court with long rallies. Co-captain Toby Eyre also played a close match, losing in five games to Yale’s number one.
Despite the loss, fans were enthusiastic about the team’s performance, rooting the players on in a lively atmosphere. One enthusiast was heard saying after the match, “The effort and enthusiasm were inspirational. It made me proud to be a Williams Women’s Squash fan.”
The Ephs will hit the road on Saturday for a match against Middlebury before returning to their home courts on Sunday for matches against Mt. Holyoke and Bates.
