Ephs fall to Harvard Crimsons

Williams’ women’s varsity squash
team took on Harvard University’s team at the Simon Squash
Center courts this past Sunday.
“This weekend was a great start to the
season. Everyone worked hard and played well,” said junior
Arianna Kourides. “With an instrumental plaer coming back in
January and another month or two of training, we will be a force to
be reckoned with.”
While the Ephs fought valiantly, they
couldn’t hold off the Harvard Crimsons. Rather, the team lost
7-2, with top player Toby Eyre winning by default due to an injury
and the Ephs’ number nine player, Kavitha Mannava winning in
three games. Senior and co-captain Ashley Eyre took opponent Alisha
Mashruwala to four games by beating her in the third with a score
of 9-0.
Head Coach Zafi Levy said of the match,
“We played a very strong Harvard side today. I think the
girls worked hard despite being tired from the match yesterday
against Stanford. We have many young players in our line-up who
keep getting better week by week. I think we will have some great
success later on this season.”
