Brazilian Training

Today we got up for breakfast as usual, but unfortunately our
practice uniforms weren't clean, so we had to push back our first
training session. After waiting for about thirty minutes, coach
Pinard decided to have a “light” training session. We
jogged, stretched, and played several games, players from the North
vs. players from the South. It gets pretty competitive and really
gets us working hard.
We had a relaxing afternoon and then had a double
session—first the one that we were supposed to do this
morning, and then a technical session with a Brazilian coach.
Gabriella, our Soccer Futuro liason, translated for us as the coach
had us juggling tennis balls, explained drills, and constantly
urged us to go faster.
Our legs tired, we got in the pool, shorts and all, then headed up
for dinner where we celebrated sophomore Anne Marie Burke's
birthday with a surprise cake.
The day ended with the team laughing and joking around, excited for our first visit to Monte Siao tomorrow and our second game.
The Eph seniors are teaming up to provide daily updates from Brazil.
