Ephs draw first game 2-2 in Brazil

After a full-nights sleep, the Ephs started off Day 2 of their Brazilian tour with a renewed sense of intensity. With their legs back under them, the morning practice session played out much smoother than the session the pŕevious day.  The team took a poolside break to relax together and get some sun.

Lizzy Danhakl and Glenn Boyer joined the group in the afternoon after being held up by bad weather and cancelled flights.  With the team fully together they were ready to take on their first Brazilian opponent, Motorola.

The Brazilian women utilized their explosiveness and composure to frustrate the Williams team, but a burst of energy from Annelise Snyder put Williams ahead 1-0 at the half.  After halftime, the Ephs returned with a focus on possession.

Sarah Walmsley added goal number two for Williams off a great combination play on the right flank and a well-played assist from Sara Wild.  In a physically tough last twenty minutes, the Brazilians converted on two chances with the second goal coming off a well-placed corner in the last two minutes of the game. The Ephs posted a 2-2 tie and are excited about the work ahead of them.

After a post-game lift, the Ephs ended the night with a competitive "game night". Teams made of roommate pairs battled in ping pong, pool, and foosball.  The first ever "game night" ended in a three-way tie.

The Eph seniors are teaming up to provide daily updates from Brazil.
