Five Ephs named First Team All-New England

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — Five members of the 2008 Williams College women’s soccer team were selected First Team All-New England for Div. III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas, it was announced Tuesday.
For four of the five — seniors Gabrielle Woodson and
Caitlin Colesanti and juniors Brianna Wolfson and Lauren Sinnenberg
— it was the second consecutive season they earned the
honor.
Sophomore midfielder Sara Wild was named First Team All-New
England for the first time.
Woodson led the Ephs, who finished 19-1-1, losing only to Wheaton (Ill.), in the national semifinals, with 38 points. Her 15 goals broke her own single-season record of 14 set in 2007. Woodson ended her career with 85 points (34 goals, 17 assists) in 65 games, fourth best all-time at Williams. Her goal output (34) is also fourth best, and she finished third all-time in assists (17). She had six game-winning goals for the second straight year, a team-leading figure.
Wolfson ended her season with 31 points, with 11 goals and nine assists. In the process, she became the all-time leader in assists (21) at the school after only three seasons. In her three seasons, she has played in 52 of a possible 54 games, starting 46, and has compiled 63 points (26 goals, 21 assists).
Together, Woodson and Wolfson were a part of 35 of the 56 goals the Ephs scored in 2008, or 62.5 percent.
Sinnenberg started all 21 games for the Ephs this season, splitting time in only seven and playing 1,622 minutes and 49 seconds in goal. She allowed 11 goals and made 52 saves, finishing with a 0.61 goals against average and a .825 save percentage.
Colesanti, a back, started and played in all 21 games as a senior. Over her four year career, she played in 65 of a possible 68 games, starting 61. In that time, Williams allowed only 57 goals while scoring 157. She was named to the all-tournament team at the national championships in 2008.
Wild started all 21 games in the midfield for the Ephs in 2008 and was third on the team in points with 22 (9 goals, 4 assists). She also had three game-winning goals to her credit. Over two years, Wild has 29 points (10 goals, 9 assists).
