WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — Williams College senior Gabrielle Woodson and junior Lauren Sinnenberg were named First Team All-America for Div. III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas, it was announced recently.
For Woodson, it was the second consecutive season she earned the honor.
Woodson led the Ephs, who finished 19-1-1, losing only to Wheaton (Ill.), in the national semifinals, with 38 points. Her 15 goals broke her own single-season record of 14 set in 2007. Woodson ended her career with 85 points (34 goals, 17 assists) in 65 games, fourth best all-time at Williams. Her goal output (34) is also fourth best, and she finished third all-time in assists (17). She had six game-winning goals for the second straight year, a team-leading figure.
Sinnenberg started all 21 games for the Ephs this season, splitting time in only seven and playing 1,622 minutes and 49 seconds in goal. She allowed 11 goals and made 52 saves, finishing with a 0.61 goals against average and a .825 save percentage.
Williams recorded 12 shutouts in 2008 and Sinnenberg played a role in all 12, earning nine on her own and sharing three with sophomore Julia Schreiber.
