Five Ephs tabbed All-New England

— Five members of the Williams College women’s
soccer team were named to the 2007 NSCAA/adidas NCAA Div. III
All-New England Regional Team recently.
Junior forward Gabrielle Woodson, named a First Team All-American
Monday, was on of the five selected. Joining Woodson were
sophomore forward Brianna Wolfson, senior midfielder Kaolin McEvoy,
junior back Caitlin Colesanti and sophomore goalkeeper Lauren
Sinnenberg.
Williams set a program record for wins in a single season with 17.
The Ephs won a record 17 straight games to start the season before
falling to Hamilton, 2-1, in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA
Tournament.
Woodson scored in 11 of the Ephs first 16 games this season, in the
process notching six game-winning goals. She led the team with 35
points and 14 goals — she also had 7 assists. Woodson was the
first NESCAC Player of the Year from Williams since Jill Caterer
accomplished that feat in 1999. Her 14 goals broke the school's
single-season mark set by Mindy Thompson in 1997.
Wolfson was equally dynamic for an Eph team which produced 50
goals, notching 10 goals and 10 assists for 30 points so far.
McEvoy, a captain, was the leader of the midfield. She helped
generate the offensive flow for the Ephs and provided sterling
defense as well. She also notched two goals and two assists on the
season.
Colesanti was the lone upperclassmen of a young backfield for
Williams and played sensationally all season. She was a big
reason why Williams surrendered only six goals so far this year.
Another big part of that is sophomore goalkeeper Sinnenberg, who
had 10 shutouts to her credit, 17 wins, a 0.30 goals against
average and a conference –leading .909 save percentage.
