Woodson selected as NESCAC Player of the Week

HADLEY, MA — Williams College junior Gabrielle Woodson (Plano, Tx.) has been selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for play ending Nov. 4.

Woodson notched nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) in Williams’ two wins last week, scoring twice and assisting on another goal in a 4-1 win over Middlebury in the NESCAC Tournament semifinals, then  scored one goal and assisted on two others in a 4-0 victory over Bowdoin in the NESCAC championship game.

With her goal Sunday, Woodson set the single-season scoring mark at Williams with 14, eclipsing the mark of Mindy Thompson, who scored 13 goals in the 1997 season. Woodson leads Williams In points with 35 (14 goals, 7 assists).
