Corey Paulish Named Academic All-American

TOWSON, Md. – Williams College senior wrestler Corey Paulish (Ridgefield [HS], CT) has been named to Capital One Academic All-America® College Division At-Large Third Team. The Men's At-large team covers the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo, and wrestling.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Since the program's inception in 1952, the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 14,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.

Paulish is the 24th Eph to earn Academic All-American honors since the fall of 1993 and is the first Williams wrestler so honored.

Paulish compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.76 majoring in both economics and psychology. Paulish was named to the Deans List every semester at Williams and was thrice named to the National Wrestling Coaches Scholar-All-American Team and he earned Academic All-NESCAC honors the maximum two years.

Paulish, who captained the Ephs this past season, is the all-time leader in wins at Williams with 129. He was a three-time NCAA qualifier and earned All-American honors in 2009 at 141.

Four times in his career Paulish earned all All-NEWA honors and twice he was a NEWA champion. He was also named the 2008 NEWA Rookie of the Year.
