Corey is the son of Nick Paulish and Molly McGeehin…He majors in Economics. Corey comes from Ridgefield, CT and wrestled at Ridgefield High School where he was a 2X state open champion, and received 2nd and 3rd place finishes in New England’s. Corey was 53-2 as a junior and 49-2 as a senior. Corey also played soccer, baseball, and was a member of the Glee Club in high school.
Career at Williams: As a freshman,
Corey placed 2nd in New England and was the NEWA
Conference Rookie of the Year with a 23-8
record. Corey also won the Williams College Team
Rookie of the year Award for the 2007-2008 season. As a sophomore Corey continued
his impressive career earning a few firsts for a Williams College
wrestler. Corey went 40-9 as a sophomore setting
the single season wins mark for a Williams wrestler at 40. He placed at every
tournament he entered on the season and won the 2009 NEWA
Championship at 141.
In the finals he won by Major Decision 11-2 over 2X All conference
wrestler Jake Gire of Trinity. For winning the
conference tournament he received an automatic bid to the NCAA
Division III National Championships. He went
into the tournament unseeded and earned All-American honors with a
4th place finish. He beat the #3 and #6 seeded
wrestlers on the first day of the tournament making the
semi-finals. Corey was also a 2009 Scholar
All-American and is the first wrestler in the programs history to
earn All-American and Scholar All-American honors in the same
year. Corey enjoys
lifting, lemonade, and training. He want to
pursue a career in economics and finance after college.
