Carl is the son of Jim and Judy Breitenstein…he majors in psychology…Carl comes from Duanesburg, NY and wrestled at Duanesburg High School where he was a New York State finalist as a senior and took 4th place in the New York State as a junior.  He also played baseball at Duanesburg High School.

Career at Williams: Carl had a record of 25-11 as a freshman and finished 5th in New England.  As a freshman he shared the Rookie wrestler of the year award for Williams with Rittenburg.  As a sophomore he was 26-11 and repeated his 5th place finish in New England.  As a Sophomore, Carl took 2nd at the RIT Invitational knocking off Nate Bachmann a National Qualifier from RIT and won the Williams Invitational.  As a junior Carl was 37-11 and took 3rd place at the NEWA Championships.  In Carl’s first 3 years he has been a 3X All Conference wrestler and was a 2008 Scholar All-American.  During his junior season Carl placed at the Doug Pakrer (2nd), Ursinus Fall Brawl (3rd), the Simpson Invitationl (6th) and the RWU Invitational (3rd).  He won the prestigious J. Edwin Bullock Award as a junior presented to the Williams Wrestler who because of his superior performance, courage, and loyalty has been of credit to his college.
