Rittenburg falls at NCAAs

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA- Sophomore Dylan Rittenburg, the lone Williams College wrestler remaining at the NCAA Championships saw his stellar season come to end with a hard fought bout against two time All-American Travis Grawin (Luther College). Rittenburg, who won in double overtime in the consolation bracket, finished the year 30-13 and now has a career mark of 51-30.
"Dylan [Rittenburg] wrestled very, very well against a quality wrestler," said co-head coach Dan Dicenzo. "He has a lot of reasons to be proud of his performance out here."
Rittenburg was down 5-4 going into the 3rd period and chose down. This strategy paid off, as he was able to break free and collect the two points and a 6-5 lead. However, a subsequent take down by Grawin made it a one-point deficit for Rittenburg. A last minute effort to takedown Grawin resulted in Rittenburg getting pinned with seconds remaining.
The defeated officially ended the Eph's season- a campaign that featured an impressive third place finish at the New England regionals. The Ephs return many wrestlers, including NCAA qualifiers Rittenburg and junior Ethan Cohen.
