Cohen '09, Rittenburg '10 compete at NCAAs

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA- The Williams College wrestling team sent two wrestlers to the Division 3 NCAA Championships, which held its first session Friday afternoon. Junior Ethan Cohen and Sophomore Dylan Rittenburg both drew the number 3 seed at 125 and 141 respectively in the first round.
After being named wrestler of the match at the New England regionals, Cohen dropped a hard fought match to #3 Jake Oster (Elmhurst) by technical fault. Later in the first session, Cohen was unable to remain in the tournament's consolation bracket as he fell to Jerrad Hoxie (Heidelburg).
"Ethan [Cohen] had a great year and provided great leadership for this team," said co-head coach Dan DiCenzo. "He should be really proud of what he accomplished this year."
Rittenburg earned a spot at nationals with his second place finish at 141 in the New England regionals. He proved deserving of that at-large bid with a highly contested battle against #3 Matt Kelly (Wartburg). Unfortunately, Rittenburg fell to Kelly 10-2 and now awaits #6 Nicholas Sanchez (Heidelberg) in the consolation bracket.
The second session of Day 1 begins at 6:00 PM central time.
