Chris Mason named to Delaware County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame

Long time Eph head women’s lacrosse and assistant field hockey coach Chris Mason has added another Hall of Fame to her resume by her recent induction into the Delaware County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Athletic Hall of Fame – click here.

Mason a former All-American at Penn State and member of the US National Field Hockey team was named to the 1980 and 1984 US Olympic teams, earning a bronze medal in 1984.

This past spring Mason guided the Ephs to a fifth NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament appearance after winning the NESCAC championship and  a 15th Little Three title. The Ephs finished the 2010 season with a 12-7 record.

In 1996 Mason led the Ephs to a perfect season (15-0) and was named the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) National Coach of the Year. Due to a conflict with the final exam schedule the 1996 Ephs were not allowed to participate in the NCAA Tournament.

Mason did lead the 1998 and 2000 Ephs second place finishes at the NCAA Championship Tournament.

33 Ephs have earned All-American honors under Mason in lacrosse and she has coached one national offensive player of the year and one national defensive player of the year.
