Brueggemann, Ferriter & Thayer Selected for North-South All-Star Game

GRAND LAKE, CO -- The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has named 41 student-athletes to play in the NCAA Division III North-South Senior All-Star Game, which will take place at the Champions’ Cup on Sat., June 12.

Three members of the Williams team that went 12-7 and won the school’s first NESCAC title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament have been selected to play for the North Team. Eph senior captains Quinn Brueggeman (Durham, NH) and Whitney Thayer (Lancaster, PA), will be joined by classmate Tracey Ferriter (Winchester, MA).

Brueggeman, a defender, started all 19 games this season and scored one goal, while collecting 30 ground balls and 9 draw controls. She also caused 17 turnovers.

Thayer, an attack, in 19 games netted 31 goals, assisted on two, picked up 13 ground balls and won a team best 48 draw controls. She caused five turnovers.

Ferriter, a midfielder, started all 19 contests as well and she tallied 11 goals and assisted on 6 for 17 points this spring. Two of her goals were game-winners. She led the Ephs in ground balls with 43 and was second in draw controls with 36. She forced 16 turnovers.

The Division III game will begin at 2 pm at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pa.
