First year attack Sam Weinstein (Marblehead, MA/Deerfield Academy) was named the national Division III Rookie of the Week by women’s lacrosse.com.
This past week Weinstein was instrumental in helping the Ephs
overcome two deficits. She helped rally the Ephs twice as the Ephs
defeated RPI and Bates.
In the win over RPI, she scored twice in a 5-0 run to bring
Williams up from down one. In a 7-5 victory against Bates on
Saturday, she scored the first and last goal in a four-goal run
that brought Williams from down one to up three and take a lead
they would not relinquish. She added two caused turnovers and a
ground ball in the victory.
Weinstein, who also letters in ice hockey for the Ephs, leads Williams in goals scored on the year with 7 in three games
