Burns earns First Team All-NESCAC honors
HADLEY, MA — Williams College junior Elizabeth Burns has been selected 2008 First Team All-NESCAC. Burns, the Ephs' top defender, topped the club in groundballs, draw controls and caused turnovers this season.
Williams finished its season 6-8. The Ephs allowed 169 goals over 14 games, or 12.07 each game. Burns was the standout defender, leading team with 42 groundballs, 34 draw controls and 23 caused turnovers during the season. She also scored one goal on the season.
"She's our best defender because she sees the game so well and she anticipates the game so well," Ephs head coach Chris Mason said. "She's very consistent and very aware, she's always able to get to te right place at the right time. She does a great job leading the defense."
