Lye, Plunkett tabbed All-NESCAC

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — Williams College senior Joey Lye and junior Sara Plunkett were selected Second Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference Thursday.

Lye (Toronto, ONT.) a senior defenseman, was second on the Ephs in points with 14 (6 goals, 8 assists). She had two power-play goals and three-game winning goals while playing in all 25 games for Williams.

In her career, Lye played in 100 games and registered 41 points (18 goals, 23 assists).

Plunkett (Barrington, RI), a transfer from Colgate University, played all 1,499:40 minutes in goal for Williams this season. In 25 games, she had a .901 save percentage and a 2.68 goals against average. Plunkett fashioned three shutouts on the season and made 679 saves, an average of 27.16 per game.

Hamilton sophomore forward Stephanie Miguel (Maple, Ontario) and Amherst junior goaltender Krystyn Elek (Summerville, S.C.) were chosen as the 2009 NESCAC Co-Players of the Year, as determined by the conference coaches.
