Taconic Golf Club

In the fall of 2002 women’s golf hosted the first of their annual event at Taconic Golf Club.  Taconic, continually rated one of the top collegiate golf courses in the nation, is owned by Williams College and home to both the men’s and women’s teams.

The Boston Globe voted Taconic number one in the state for scenic beauty, as well as the “seventh most difficult” and “fourth most pleasurable to play” compared to 200 of the finest courses in the northeast.  The Club, which is just a short walk from the heart of campus, has a long and storied history.  This history is enhanced by its outstanding layout, superb course conditions, and magnificent Berkshire vistas.

The New York Times noted some of the recent changes to the layout at The Taconic Golf Club in an article by Bill Pennington on August 31, 2009.

Additional Practice Facilities
In addition to playing at one of the nation’s finest courses, the women’s golf team has access to all of the training facilities that the College offers.  The weight training and nautilus center, both in Lasell Gymnasium, may be used in and out of season to improve conditioning, flexibility, and strength.  Lasell also offers three indoor hitting areas, used during inclement conditions, and for swing analysis and technical preparation.  Here, state of the art video equipment is frequently used to aid in swing technique.  Finally, a practice range at Cole Field and a large putting green as well as a practice bunker and wedge area at Taconic gives the Ephs an opportunity to consistently improve and fine tune their game.
