AMHERST, MA - The Williams College women's golf team shot 673 to finish third at the Jack Leaman Invitational. The Ephs were topped by Wellesley (669) and tournament host Amherst (659).
Freshman Becky Miller was the standout performer for the Ephs this weekend, shooting an 80-81 to finish in 2nd place individually. "It was a great weekend for Becky," says head coach Erika DeSanty, "She played one shot at a time and finished nearly all of the opportunities she had. This is exactly what she needed going into our final tournament and hopefully as we prepare for nationals."
Teammates Mary Gelber (82), Victoria Student (85), and Anne O'Leary (86) also played exceptionally well and helped the team secure their top three spot. "This weekend showed just how important every player is to our team. Going forward our focus is for all five players to perform to their full potential."
Next weekend, the Ephs host an invitational of their own. Competition begans at Taconic Golf Club at 12PM on April 24th.
