POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – On the second and final day of competition at the Dutchess Golf & Country Club, the Williams College women's golf team shot a 676 to end the Vassar Invitational in second place. The Ephs fell just behind Amherst (670), and were followed in third by tournament host Vassar (681).

After the successful weekend, head coach Erika DeSanty says that the team is "happy with our improvement today. Amherst played very well and deserved the win."

Coming into Sunday, the Ephs were tied for second place with Wellesley College with scores of 336. It was a nice day for the team despite windy conditions, which made the greens and pin placements difficult.

Senior Anne O'Leary and freshman Victoria Student were able to give the Ephs yet another day of solid performance. Student finished second overall individually (163), while O'Leary (83/82) tied for third with Kim Eaton of Wellesley (85/80) and Kinne Schwartz of Amherst (89/76) with scores of 165. Other notable efforts for the Ephs came from freshman Becky Miller (88/84) and senior Mary Gelber (90/88), who placed 15th (172) and 25th (178) overall.

The Ephs will play next weekend at the Jack Leaman Championship. "Our focus going into next weekend will be to put two solid days together," says coach.
