O'Leary, Koplik named All-Region

CORAL SPRINGS, FL. — Williams College sophomore Anne O'Leary and junior Laura Koplik were named to The National Golf Coaches Association's All-East Region team Thursday.
O'Leary and Koplik, currently participating in the 2008 NCAA Div. III Championships in Waverly, IA., were two members of the 10-player East Region team.
The pair has helped Williams to tournament wins at Middlebury in the fall and Vassar in the spring. O'Leary was the medlaist at Middlebury with a two-day total of 165, while Koplik was tied for fourth. O'Leary also had a third-place finish at the Williams Invitational this spring and was third at the Wellesley Invitational. She was second at the Williams Fall Classic with a two-day total of 157.
Koplik missed much of the fall season due to academic
opportunities, though she did play in the Middlebury Invitational
and placed fourth with a two-day total of 174. In the spring, she
was 16th in the Vassar Invitational, 17th at the Jack Leaman
Women's Championship and sixth at the Williams Spring Invitational
with a two-day total of 166.
The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) was formed in 1983 as
an organization to promote participation in women’s
collegiate golf. The vision of NGCA since its inception has been to
encourage the playing of intercollegiate golf for women in
correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance
with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.
Today, the NGCA represents the finest coaches in women's golf with
a membership of over 400 coaches of Division I, II & III and
NAIA collegiate programs.
NGCA is governed by a 13 member Board of Directors including
women's collegiate golf coaches at Division I, II & III
institutions. The NGCA Headquarters is based in Coral Springs,
Florida and is staffed by Executive Director Roger M. Yaffe.
