Day 1 – Ephs 1st of 3 at Middlebury


The Williams College women’s golf team is in first place after day one of a two-day tournament at Middlebury College. Williams leads Middlebury and St. Lawrence University with a total score of 339.

Laura Koplik, junior, carded the lowest round for the tournament, shooting an 82. Sophomore Anne O’Leary fired an 84 and Kait O’Brien, also a sophomore, shot an 86. Sophomore Mary Gelber carded an 87 and Lauren Anstey, a freshman, shot a 92.

“We did a lot better on the backside and the team got better as the day went on. Still, we are not playing a lot better golf and so we are looking forward to tomorrow,” Coach Herman stated.

The tournament continues tomorrow with teams teeing off at 8:00 am.
