
Jessica Kopcho '09 who rowed at Williams, winning the NCAA championship in 2008 & 2009, and played three years of JV soccer for the Ephs is back on the pitch in a big way. Kopcho has since started playing soccer again, this time with the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) entry in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). The WPSL is one notch below Women's Professional Soccer, which is home to most of the members of the US National Team.
This past weekend, Kopcho came off the bench to score 3 goals in a crucial game, which clinched the #1 seed in the playoffs for NYAC. For her performance, she was nominated for the WPSL player of the week, and received an honorable mention as the WPSL Player of the Week.
Kopcho is currently in graduate school at Columbia University, studying to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
HONORABLE MENTION: F Anna Maliszewska (SOUTH FLORIDA STRIKERS) - scored three goals in a 4-1 victory over 2011 Sunshine Conference champion FSA Freedom; F Jessica Kopcho (NEW YORK ATHLETIC CLUB) - came on in the second half against Millburn and scored 3 goals on 3 shots to propel NYAC to victory; F Megan Lindsay (SPOKANE SHINE) - the Seattle Pacific University star scored a hat-trick in Sunday's 5-1 win over Oregon Rush, completing a weekend sweep for the Shine.
