Ephs fall to Bowdoin, 91-58

BRUNSWICK, ME. – Falling short in a last-minute rally against Colby last night, the Ephs (8-14, 3-4) could not carry over any momentum from their late-game surge against perennial NESCAC powerhouse, Bowdoin (6-1, 18-4).
Sitting atop the conference standings, the Polar Bears dominated the forty minutes of play to deal Williams their second loss of the weekend, 91-58.
Williams held the lead at 4-3 at 19:05 after a pair of Mika Peterman free throws, but it was short-lived. In the next 5:44, Bowdoin scored the next twenty points to take a commanding 23-4 lead. The Polar Bears led by as many as 25 points, before taking a 47-24 lead into the locker room for the half.
Bowdoin remained merciless on the offensive end in the second half, and continued to pile on the points. With 9:17 to play, the home team took their largest lead of the game at 76-42, before closing out the Ephs by a 33-points margin, 91-58.
Taylor Shea led the Ephs with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Peterman added 12 points.
Katie Bergeron led Bowdoin with 22 points. Alexa Kaubris contributed 12 on the night.
Williams will play archrival Amherst Friday at
6 p.m.
