WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- The Ephs (2-2) unfortunately proved to be a gracious host Sunday, losing for the second time in as many days to the Falcons of Fitchburg State (2-2) in the final game of the Williams Tip-Off Classic, 91-83.

The first half saw the Ephs shoot a scorching 59% from the field, an even 60% from behind the arc (6-10), and 80% from the free throw line (8-10).  Thanks to numbers like these, the Ephs finished the half with 48 points.

Unfortunately for the Ephs, they also made 12 turnovers to Fitchburg's 6, and gave up 6 offensive rebounds in the first half.  Thanks to numbers like these, the Falcons also finished the half with 48 points despite shooting respectable, but considerably lower, percentages (48% from the field and 40% from long range).

Senior forward Stephanie Payette had a huge first half for the Falcons, scoring 16 points on 6 of 10 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free throw line.  Krystie O'Brien added an efficient 13 on 6 of 7 shooting.

The Ephs on the other hand featured a balanced scoring attack in the first half, as four players scored eight or more points.  First-year point guard Jill Greenberg had a good half offensively, scoring 11 points while dishing out 5 assists to only one turnover.

The Falcons led for most of the second half, but in the later goings the Ephs made a push.  Senior Mika Peterman scored seven points in a row at one point for the Ephs resulting in a tie score at 72.  After a Fitchburg bucket sophomore Chessie Jackson responded with a two to tie it again at 74.  It would be as close at the Ephs got however, as Williams just couldn't seem to find an answer for the Falcons on defense.  With a little over a minute left the Ephs were down 82-76 and had to start fouling.  To their credit, the Falcons made their free throws to secure the win, 91-83.
