MIDDLEBURY, VT-- After a disappointing first day at the Middlebury Carnival, the ski team was looking to get back in the top-5 on day two. Unfortunately, things went the other way. The team struggled as a whole today, and ended up in 7th place for the weekend.

After a season of strong performances, the women's alpine team struggled to find their form today, finishing 6th with 75 points. The women packed four into places 18th through 22nd, with Geordie Lonza, Emily Porter, Kelsey Levine, and Laurel Carter finishing 18th, 19th, 21st, and 22nd, respectively. Vermont's Bryana Park won the race in 2:08.40.

Men's alpine improved over yesterday's debacle, but, as has been the case all season, failed to ski to their potential. Senior Alex Dyroff finished 24th to lead the team, with freshman Jeff Bak right behind in 25th. Sean Cummiskey rounded out the scoring, finishing 29th. Vermont's David Donaldson won the race in 2:03.94.

The warm weather and wet snow made for tough waxing and slow conditions for today's nordic events. Williams did not have the fastest skis today, and it showed in the results. Alice Nelson hung tough and finished 15th to lead the women. Sophomore Hannah Hausman had a strong race, finishing 26th. Junior Kirsten Johnson hurt her back mid race and finished 31st. The women scored 62 points on the day, placing them 7th.

Men's nordic also suffered from slow skis, and had their worst performance of the season. After placing two skiers in the top-6, including one in 2nd, the team barely put one in the top-25 today. Dimitri Luthi, Evan Dethier, and Keith Kantack finished 24th, 29th, and 49th, respectively, to give the boys 42 points and a 9th place finish.
