Sam Flood '83, Coordinating Producer of Sports at NBC, presented the 20th Frank Deford Award to seniors Ben Horwitz and Liz Kantack. This marks the 20th year the award has been presented.

Williams Takes 14th Place at NCAA Championship
RUMFORD, Me. – Dimitri Luthi ’12 capped his season with a 33rd place finish in the men’s 20K mass start freestyle race. With only one nordic skier scoring points for the Ephs, Williams moved to 14th place in the final day of the NCAA Championships.

BETHEL, Me. – Eric Mann ’09 netted the top finish of the day, placing 14th in the slalom at Sunday River, to lead the Ephs one spot forward into 12th place. The Ephs still remain sixth among schools from the EISA conference.

Williams College will send four student-athletes to the NCAA National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Skiing Championships hosted by Bates College, to be held March 11—14 at Sunday River and Black Mountain in Bethel and Rumford, Maine.

MIDDLEBURY, VT – The Williams ski team ended the Middlebury Carnival on a high note, with senior Eric Mann winning the GS and the men’s nordic team taking third place in the 3 x 5K relay. The team moved into fifth place overall.

RUMFORD/BETHEL, ME—The Williams ski team slipped to sixth place after the second and final day of the Bates Carnival. The alpine men continued to carry the team with their strong skiing, highlighted by junior Alex Dyroff’s first career podium finish in the men’s slalom race.
