Day 2 Ephs hold 14th place in 2008 Skiing Championships

Bozeman, Montana - The Alpine giant slalom races were held today
in the 2008 NCAA Skiing Championships, hosted by Montana State
University. The Ephs placed 14th after the second day of the
four-day championships with a team score of 115. University of
Denver currently holds first place with a team score of 316.5.
In the men’s giant slalom race, junior Eph skier Eric Mann
placed eighth, with a first run time of 51.16 and a second run time
of 49.79, qualifying him as an All-American for the second time in
his college career. Sophomore Alex Dyroff placed 28th with a first
run time of 52.84 and a second run time of 51.18. Alpine team
captain Charles Christianson, senior, placed 30th with a first run
time of 50.84 and a second run time of 55.97.
In the women’s race, sophomore Jennah Durham placed 17th
with a first run time of 57.97 and a second run time of 51.78.
Emily Porter, sophomore, placed 30th with a first run time of
1:00.32 and a second run time of 55.12.
The 2008 NCAA Skiing Championships continue tomorrow with the
Nordic classic races and conclude Saturday, March 8th, with the
Alpine slalom races.
