7 Ephs qualify for NCAAs/14 Earn National Academic Honors/2 Named All-East

Five Williams College Alpine skiers and two Nordic skiers have
qualified to compete at the upcoming NCAA Div. I Skiing
Championships in Bozeman, Montana, March 5-8. Charles Christianson,
Jennah Durham, Rob Dyroff, Eric Mann and Emily Porter are entered
in the Alpine competition, while Kirsten Johnson and Alice Nelson
will compete in the Nordic competition.
Christianson and Mann are making their third appearances at the
NCAA Championships, while Durham is competing for the second
straight year. Rob Dyroff and Emily Porter are making their first
appearance at the NCAA event as are Nordic competitors Kirsten
Johnson and Alice Nelson.
The Williams College ski team had 14 student-athletes named to the
National Ski Coaches Association (NSCA) All-Academic Team.
To be honored a skier must compete at the Eastern regional
championships and have at least a 3.5 GPA in the fall term.
Seven Alpine skiers and seven Nordic competitors were honored.
Alpine skiers earning national academic honors include: Evan
Barrett, Jennah Durham, Rob Dyroff, Eric Mann, Emily Porter, Alex
Reeves and Liz McClure. Nordic skiers recognized by the NSCA
include: Evan Dethier, Mark Johnson, Elizabeth Kantack, Sam Kapala,
Alice Nelson, Alex Taylor and Fiona Worcester.
Sam Kapala, Mark Johnson and Fiona Worcester were also named to
the 2007 NSCA All-Academic Team.
Christianson and Nelson were both named All-East this winter with Christianson earning First Team honors and Nelson garnering Second Team honors.
