OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Eph head softball coach Kris Herman made a trip to the Midwest to check up on one of her former star players recently and she liked what she saw.
Herman was in Oklahoma City to see Joey Lye ’09 compete for the Canadian National Softball Team vs. two teams from the USA and one from Japan in the KFC World Cup.
Herman reported that, Canada had “two tough 1-run losses today, but Joey got to play a bunch and did well.” These two photos are from the day Herman saw Lye in action versus Japan and the USA Futures team.
Lye, one of the most talented Eph players ever, is in her first season with the Canadian team as a utility player. To date she has played all three outfield positions, served as a pinch hitter, pinch runner and played second base.
For Kris Herman Lye played the outfield for three years before starring at shortstop as a senior and batting leadoff.
