Daub selected NESCAC Pitcher of the Week

HADLEY, MA — Williams College sophomore Mary Beth Daub (Claremont, CA) has been selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for play ending Sunday, April 26.

Daub went 2-1 with a save over four appearances, recording a 1.39 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .181 average and striking out 15.

In a must-win doubleheader Saturday against Amherst, Daub entered game one with two outs in the top of the seventh inning with the bases loaded and the Ephs leading 5-3. She retired the next batter on her first pitch to earn a save. In the nightcap, she went the distance in an 8-4 victory that clinched a berth in the conference tournament for Williams, allowing seven hits while walking three and striking out two.

On the season, Daub is 7-5 with a 2.02 ERA. In 83 1/3 innings, she has allowed 81 hits and 39 walks while striking out 63 and holding opposing batters to a .250 average.
