Lye named Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American
Williams College junior shortstop Joey Lye earned All-America honors Thursday. Lye was selected a 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-American, thus becoming the third Eph ever to earn All-America status. She was named Second Team shortstop and joined Laura Jacobs (1998) and Liz Gluck (2004) as Ephs who have earned the honor.

The Ephs are back at .500 after the win, sitting at 13-13 overall and 4-2 in conference play. They host Springfeld Monday for a twinbill beginning at 3:30 p.m.

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA Junior Morgan Simpson fired a complete-game seven-hitter in the opener Sunday to help the Williams College softball team take game one of a doubleheader with Little 3 rival Wesleyan, 5-1, but the Ephs had to settle for a split when two unearned runs in the top of the sixth inning of the nightcap allowed the Cardinals to escape with a 2-1 victory.

2008 Season Outlook
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA The West Division winner of the New England Small College Athletic Conference will host the conference tournament this year.
The Ephs would like to keep the tournament in Williamstown. Williams has hosted the tournament in even years three straight times, dating back to 2002. The Ephs had captured three consecutive NESCAC titles before Tufts won it in 2007.
