A native of Duxbury, VT, Patrick Wales-Dinan graduated from Milton [MA] Academy before obtaining a B.A. in Economics from Bates College (Lewiston, ME) in 2005. While at Bates, Wales-Dinan was a two-time All-New England runner and state champion at 800m. He was also part of Bates’ 2004 NCAA Championship cross-country team.

After graduating from Bates, Wales-Dinan was head coach of cross-country, indoor, and outdoor track at Traip Academy (Kittery, ME) from 2005 – 2008. There he helped athletes to qualify for the NSIC meet in New York and led his cross-country teams to top five finishes in the state two consecutive years.

In 2008-09, Wales-Dinan was the assistant coach of women’s cross-country and track at the University of Southern Maine (Gorham, ME) where he helped the Huskies win their 9th consecutive LEC and Alliance League titles. He also served as the meet director for the 2008 Maine State Cross-Country Championships.
