Eph Men's & Women's Cross Country Earn USTFCCA Team Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS – Both the men's and women's cross country teams at Williams College, coached by Peter Farwell, have earned the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team Award for 2010.

The USTFCCCA is honoring 125 men's Division III Cross country teams this year with its All-Academic team award.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.

A total of 125 institutions represent 32 conferences that compose the group. The MIAC and NESCAC led all conferences with nine members earning All-Academic honors and was followed by the SCAC which had eight listed.

The Williams men posted a team GPA of 3.42 to qualify.

The USTFCCCA honored 167 women's Division III teams and Peter Farwell's women's Ephs earned the team award by posting a team GPA of 3.49.

The 167 women's institutions represent 35 conferences. The MIAC led all conferences with 11 members earning All-Academic honors and was followed by the WIAC and NESCAC, which had nine listed.
