Hadley, MA -- Williams senior Edgar Kosgey (Eldoret Rift Valley, Kenya) was the top Division III and NESCAC runner at the 2009 Open New England race, finishing third overall with a time of 24:41 in the field of 320 competitors.
Glarious Rop of AIC (Div. 2) won the race in 24:22 and UConn’s (Div. I) William Sanders was second in 24:33.
Kosgey missed the 2008 Open New England event due to injury, but
did run a 25:35 as a sophomore on the same Franklin Park course,
The 2008 race was contested under unusually warm and humid
conditions.
The 2009 Open New England race was comprised of runners from all
three NCAA Divisions.
Williams finished eighth overall out of 47 teams with 320 points
and posted the highest NESCAC finish.
