
ORLANDO, FL -- Fletcher Brooks' Williams
men's track and field team claimed three firsts in the Division
I-weighted field at the University of Central Florida Invitational.
Williams had seven top ten placings in the non-scoring event that
featured 15 teams.
Senior Macklin Chaffee topped the field in the 1500 with a time of
4:02.81 and also captured second in the 800 clocking a 1:54.73.
Sophomore Matt Farley bested Miguel Rios-Torres and two of Torres'
Florida International teammates to win the hammer throw. Farley
flung the hammer 48.81m, 160' 2".
The Eph 4x100 relay of Deividas Seferis, Viktor Nagy, Pierre
Meloty-Kapella and Taylor Fitzgerald won with a time of 42.63.
Joining Chaffee in notching top ten finishes in the 1500 were Brian
Cole who was second in 4:06.83, Brendan Christian who finished 7th
in 4:13.91 and Anthony Raduazo who took ninth in 4:16.11. Cole also
took fifth in the 800 with a time of 1:59.51.
The Eph quartet of Nagy, Seferis, first year Richard Fusco and
Fitzgerald took 4th in 3:26.21.
Senior Stew Buck was fourth in the 400m hurdles crossing the line
in 56.23 and he backed that effort p with an 8th place finish in
the 110 high hurdles where he finished in 16.37.
Deividas Seferis highlighted his strength and versatility when ran
a 10.86 to finish 5th in the 100.
After some more training in Florida the Ephs will next see action
at the Springfield Invitational on April 4th.
