Arons wins 200m -- Chaffee second in 800m on day 2 at Richmond Univ.

RICHMOND, VA – Eph senior sprinter Andrew Arons showed that he is one Purple Cow who can run with the big dogs on day two of the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond.

Overall the Ephs found it hard to record their usual high number of finishes in Richmond competing in an event with five Division I teams, two Division II teams and an NAIA school.

Arons took first in the 100 and third in the 200. He was timed at 11.00 in the hundred in an 0.4 wind and then was clocked at 21.82 in the 200.

Macklin Chaffee posted a second place finish in the 800m when he crossed the finish line in 1:53.54.

John Dingee took third in the long jump with a 13.61m effort. Alex Hoerman and Taylor Fitzgerald finished third and fifth in the 400 with Hoerman posting a time of 50.32, while Fitzgerald finished in 50.64.

Fitzgerald also ran the anchor leg on the 4X400 relay team that finished fourth in 3:23.73. Matt Desir ran the first leg with Sy Schotz running second and Edgar Kosgey ran the third leg and handed off to Fitzgerald.
