Nick Lebedoff repeats as All-American

OBERLIN, OH – Williams men’s senior tennis captain Nick Lebedoff closed out his Eph career by advancing to the round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Tournament being played at Oberlin College and earned All-America honors for the second year in a row.

Lebedoff won his opening match of the tournament in straight sets over Matt Soloman of Whitman College, 6-4, 6-2. In his round of 16 match Lebedoff was paired with Chris Goodwin of Emory. Goodwin, the top ranked player for Emory, prevailed in three sets by winning the first and last set.

Lebedoff bounced back from a 6-4 first set loss to take the second set 7-6, but Goodwin claimed the third set 6-3.

In his four years at Williams, Lebedoff played at three singles or higher each season. He debuted as a freshman at number three, moved to number two as a sophomore and played the final two years at number one.

Lebedoff was also a two-time First Team All-NESCAC honoree and twice was honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). His junior year Lebedoff was named the ITA Northeast Player to Watch and after his first season in the Purple Valley he was named the ITA’s Northeast Region Rookie of the Year.
